Is this frame worth it for $230 (shipping included)? I've been riding a miyata 310 for a while now and I'm hooked on miyata quality.

Ok so really sorry about the inconvenience here guys, but if you scroll down a bit, there's an image of the 1993 team miyata frame. This listing is like that frame except with two scratches, on on the top tube and one on the head tube which are a bit rusty, and the paint/decals are not pristine.

If the frame is in decent shape and your size, yes. This is one of the very best production Japanese racing frames ever made.

I own a 1991 which is a very similar frame. I rode the heck out of it for a very long time. It was one of the best handling frames I have ever ridden.

By the way, that fork crown which looks like a unicrown isn't a unicrown. That's a fully sloping case crown. In fact the bike uses all investment cast lugs and fork crowns. Miyata rolled their own tubing sets.

This bike is not super lightweight even by the standards of the day with investment cast lugs and splined chrome moly tubing but it is terrifically strong and responsive.

Miyata sponsored a TdF team for some time. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that this is basically the same frame that the team rode.

I bought an 89 in fair condition a few years ago locally for $180, so $230 shipped seems like a fair price. I built mine up with modernish components and have ridden it around 3k miles over the last couple of years. I like it a lot.

Do you have the time/tools/aptitude/workshop space/pile of parts, to do all the work yourself? If so, yes. If not, pass.

Personally I'd buy it. But I have the list above.
