2016 Trek Domane 4.5 Compact
I have come across a used "2016 Trek Domane 4.5 Compact" on Ebay. It's got 2700 miles on it but pictures indicating the bike to be in a great shape. One biggest downside for me is that it has mechanical rim brakes instead of disc brakes. That aside, I love that it's an endurance bike. The bike is offered at $1,100. I'm wondering if there's anyone here familiar with the brand, model, or the bike. I appreciate all feedback, thanks.

Funny, being rim brakes would be a plus for me. Lol.
Id want to see it in person. 2,500 miles isn’t much so it should still look and perform like new unless it was crashed. Would be worth a test ride for sure.

I have a 2014 Domane with rim brakes. Series 6, though. But the rim brakes work fine for me and I weigh 245.
If you do a lot of wet weather riding, and, like me, have significant bulkitude, maybe discs would be better. But seriously, rims are fine. Eddy Merckx won races with rim brakes. Hell, he won races with Weinmann centerpull brakes.
The thing does ride very nicely - stiff cockpit for power transmission, isocoupling for very nice ride. I love it.

I've got a 2016 Domane 4.5 with rim brakes. I love the bike and haven't considered rim brakes to be a disadvantage for my purposes (primarily pavement with this bike although some gravel if it's in good condition). That sounds like a good deal assuming it wasn't in a crash and no apparent damage.

Mine is 2014 4.7 with rim brakes. I love this bike. My only change is a new saddle. I ride it for my longer exercise rides and on the road. I have not rode a bike with discs so I do not know what I might be giving up. But, I have no problems with the rim brakes but I have not done much riding with this bike in wet weather.

Thanks all. I decided to buy this bike given overwhelmingly positive feedbacks. Now time to complete my bike with some accessories including pedals and lights.
