Trek 660, $395

A 660 was my first racer. Too small for me, looks to be in excellent shape.

Cilo Road Bike 54cm Shimano 105 - $300 (Jamaica Plain)

Good condition Cilo road bike, frame made of Tange 1 steel. It’s 54cm, so best for someone 5’7-5’11.

The seat post, bar tape and break hoods are brand new. It has all Shimano 105 components, downtube 105 shifters, 6 speed in the back. The shifting is smooth, the break pads can use a little re-aligning.

It’s a really good looking bike that can go fast. And is ready for a home where it’ll be used and loved.

Buy This Or He Drews The Bike

TALL 1981 LOTUS ECLAIR - $350 (Amherst)

"I bought this bike new in 1981. It was pearl white. In 1985 I had a bike shop rebuild it for me...grey DuPont Imron paint, Cinelli long h-bar stem, Cinelli 44cm bars, Look clip-on pedals, Greg Lemond (size 12) shoes, water bottle carriers, rear luggage rack, new cables, etc.
In 1991 or so I took a tumble and bent the lower sprocket arm on the rear derailleur...never ridden it since. So...

This finely made, Japanese quality, Reynolds 531 chrome moly steel, lugged style, Shimano 600 equipped, 27" frame (yes...27" frame, measured measured from crank center to top of seat post) needs the sprocket bracket replaced, new chain, tires and tubes to be roadworthy again. The new condition vintage Greg Lemond shoes are included!!

PS. The rims are straight...the tires are shot. These are the factory oem tires!!

FOR TALL RIDERS ONLY...6'2" MINIMUM TO 6'8" MAXIMUM.

Q:
How many 27" frame, full chrome moly Reynolds steel, lugged frames do you see out there?

My drop bar road riding days are over (this bike participated in numerous century rides)...if no one of size (I'm 6'5" and this bike serves me well ergo-wise) buys this, as it obviously has sentimental value (owning 38 years now), I may convert to a fixie and keep it. If I do look for parts for sale!!

bicycle frame material: alloy
bicycle type: road
brake type: cantilever
condition: excellent
frame size: 27" XXL
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: LOTUS
model name / number: ECLAIR
serial number: 12345
suspension: none (rigid)
wheel size: 27 in"

https://lynchburg.craigslist.org/bik...967053127.html

(Took forever to ferret out this thread. Wonder why it isn't sticky-fied?)

Surly LHT 46cm, $625 @ Boulder CO area, CraigsList.

Looks fairly well-equipped for the price.

46CM SURLY LONG HAUL TRUCKER TOURING BIKE

For your consideration, an excellent condition 46cm Surly Long Haul Trucker Touring bike. It comes nicely equipped with numerous upgrades. Overall in excellent condition. Original paint is great. Has very minor scratches - purely esthetic. There are no dents or cracks anywhere.

Perfect for someone that wants a well-made all around steel touring bike. Ready to ride. Good size for a small person - 5'6" and shorter. I am 5'6" with short legs, hence the spacers on the handlebar stem.

I added double leg centerstand kick stand, Surly Nice Rack rear rack, SHIMANO DH-S501 Alfine Dynamo Disc Hub with front and rear lights, Pinhead locking skewer system for seat, handlebars and wheels, fenders and a bell. Parts list and more info below.

Also available, two Ortlieb panniers in like new condition for $75.00. I want to reserve the panniers for someone who is buying the bike, otherwise I plan to keep them.

I don't know Bianchis very well, but this looks a little tight for a touring bike.... CX maybe? Either way

Vintage Schwinns in NH (no affiliation)

1) Pristine Schwinn LeTour. Maybe first year -- appears to be steel rims, and the mattress seat suggests a '70s build. The serial number is weird though. The upright handlebars look like Schwinn OEM, it could have been a "Tourist" model from the factory?

https://nh.craigslist.org/bik/d/atki...969555773.html

2) Schwinn Sports Tourer with super low miles. It's been up for months, how has nobody snagged it yet?

https://nh.craigslist.org/bik/d/keen...949569829.html

3) Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2, looks to be good shape:

I am firmly on board with most of Rivendell's style/aesthetic (lugs, go anywhere, utility, built-to-last, comfort, style) , but don't buy in to the double top tubes. I ride 62cm frames, and never understood the need for all that extra metal to get the desired ride quality.

And the new direction they seem to be going in? Super long chainstay step through frames? What?!?

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...973846106.html

Beautiful Do-Everything Rivendell Sam Hillborne, 62 cm - $1700 (Harvard Sq)

Take advantage of this great opportunity to own the only bike you'll want to ride. It's so much fun, stable yet nimble - the best and most versatile steel bike out there - designed by the one and only Grant Petersen from Rivendell in Walnut Creek, CA.

I'm selling my black and cream Sam Hillborne bicycle, originally built by Harris Cyclery in Newton. Full bikes like this go for $3,000 new.

This frame is too large for me so this could be your chance to own a beautiful randonneuring, commuting, bikepacking lugged steel country bike. I think this size is ideal for someone 6' or taller (PBH 91-96cm see more here https://www.rivbike.com/pages/pubic-...asure-your-pbh )

The bike has been well maintained and always stored in a garage. Overall, it's in excellent condition with some normal signs of wear.

It's built up with:

Wheels & Tires: Hand built by Rich Lesnik (Hands On Wheels), Shimano LX hubs, Velocity Synergy rims, 36 spoked with Panaracer Pasela PT 700x38

Fenders: Velo Orange Zeppelin 52mm

Handlebar: Soma Portola

Shifters: Silver shifters, friction bar-end

Nitto Stem 26.0

Brake Levers: TRP RRL Ergo

Brakes: Dia Compe

Crank : Sugino XD

New bottom bracket

Nitto seatpost

*saddle not included

The only thing you need is a saddle, pedals and new handlebar tape to customize it and make it truly yours.

From Rivendell:

It’s a country bike. That’s what we call it. But most people don’t know what that is exactly so to kowtow to categorization here we go: Road tourer. All-Road. Gravel Grinder.

It’s also nimble and more than able for fast fire-road rides with the right tires. There are plenty of tires to attire your Sam from gravel-grinding cross tires to light and zippy road slicks to bulletproof commuters.

Everything that makes it a great touring bike also makes it a great commuter, camper or all-rounder. The Sam is equally a great bike for a carrying food and camping gear and clothing around.

Sams are/have:

Tough steel frame
Comfortable seat
Handlebars within reach
Rack Mounts in the right place
Fender Mounts in the right place
Room for big tires
Wiggle room for those big tires
Room for the fenders

*If the ad is up, the bike is available.

XXL 80s Schwinn Voyageur SP road bicycle (6'2" - 6'7") - $450 (Allston / Brighton / Cambridge)

1984/1985 Schwinn Voyageur SP road bike for tall riders - this is one of the iconic American touring bicycles of the 80s and some of the best years for the Voyageur SP. The frame was build with a mix of Columbus SL and SP tubes and Columbus Fork. This bike is awesome and great for touring or city commuting.

A pretty rare bike to find nowadays, which is why I bought it, but it was way too big for me.

The handlebars and stem were updated to SR Sakae Custom. The front and rear derailleur were also updated to Deore XTs. The hubs are High Flange Suzue sealed hubs - some of my favorite hubs. My other favorite component on this bike is the beautiful seatpost.

The bike frame size is 25 in (roughly 63cm) and is ideal for someone between 6'2" - 6'7".

Let me know if you have questions. There is some cosmetic damage to the paint but otherwise in great condition.

Schwinn 23” 57cm Prelude Columbus Tenax Road Bike - $100 (Union Square)

Vintage Schwinn prelude with Columbus tenax high quality frame. NOT currently ride-able, hence the low price. But a bike person with more time than I have could strip it, build it again, and sell it for a profit. No lowballers please.

Whoa. This makes my 62cm frames look like toys.

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...969133462.html

Eddy Merckx Corsa Custom 71cm for very tall - $1300 (Boston)

Custom 80s Eddy Merckx road bike in Team Panasonic colors for the very tall rider.

71cm seat tube and 65cm top tube center to center.

Racing geometry, Columbus SLX tubing.

Campagnolo drop outs, headset, bottom bracket and seat post.

Shimano 600 tricolor 7-speed indexed groupo, nitto stem, modolo bars, fizik bar tape and selle italia turbo saddle.

Low mileage wheelset custom built with Mavic open pro rims and Dura Ace front and Ultegra rear hubs with 700x23c Continental four season tires (fits 28s, maybe 30s if installed flat).

Climbs, brakes, shifts, and corners well.

I've owned it almost 15 years and bought it from the original owner here in MA.

It shows typical component and frame wear for its age and use but has no mechanical or structural issues and shows well. Stem, tape, tubes, cables and housing, hoods, and saddle were recently replaced and headset was serviced.

Original owner was 6'-5". I'm 6'-7" (200cm) but it could fit someone much taller.

Pedals will be Look-style Dura Ace road pedals or no pedals.

Any boxing or shipping will be at the buyer's expense. Bikeflights estimates ~$100 to the west coast.

Will consider offers including for frame, fork & headset.

1) Pristine Schwinn LeTour. Maybe first year -- appears to be steel rims, and the mattress seat suggests a '70s build. The serial number is weird though. The upright handlebars look like Schwinn OEM, it could have been a "Tourist" model from the factory?

2) Schwinn Sports Tourer with super low miles. It's been up for months, how has nobody snagged it yet?

3) Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2, looks to be good shape:

1) "Adult" size. I'm going to guess 52-53cm.

2) 24", but it looks smaller than #3 , which is listed as 22.5". This looks about 54cm to me.

3) 22.5"

Rich, I think you're right. At first glance I thought this was a marketing photo; the high contrast looks kinda artsy. On closer look, the bar tape is dingy and there's some garage clutter visible in the background. So that's probably the actual bike, and it's about my size. This is giving me bad ideas, N+1 ideas.

EDIT: It is in fact a 24". I plugged the image into an image editor, measured the crank axle to seat post top and the bead-seat diameter of the wheels. If you assume the bead seat is 630mm diameter, then the seat post is about 60.5cm give or take. Saves me a trip to Keene.
