Velo-Orange is planning on stocking hoods for Campy levers

I just found the following included in The Velo ORANGE Blog

'In other retro news we hope to soon stock real gum rubber hoods for old Campy brake levers; they also fit other similar shape levers. We'll also have full-hoods and half-hoods for Mafac-style brake levers.'

Just thought some of you might like this info.

I've tried them. They're nice. Leagues better than the plasticky Dia-Compe ones. The full-hood Mafac style ones fit my gen-1 Dura-Ace levers really well.

I hope there will no brand markings on them so I can also use them on my Spidel/Mafac LS2 brake levers......
Heck, they might also work on my Universal AER brakeset levers (the metal version) too. I'd be a really happy camper if this comes true as i'm tired of looking for these unobtanium hoods for these levers that are close to identical to Campy hoods in shape......
Also hope that they will at least have a choice of colors and especially in flesh, natural latex form.

What do you mean you've tried them? I don't see them on their site yet.

Now that's funny. Since you have the 'inside scoop' when can we expect them? And can you leak any more details?

Are they gum versions of the Cane Creek/Dia Compe hoods because technically they fit but like butt? Plus if they have VO logos then I'll pass.

What about hoods for all pre-STI Shimano Dura-Ace, 600 /Ultegra and 105 levers? I know that will never happen.

I've been frustrated by the DC ones too, these are not them. They're real latex. There is a manufacturer logo (not VO). I'm not sure when they'll be available but it shouldn't be too long, like a couple weeks.
