Yeah - I know some people won't buy a clipless thread being in C&V but - didn't I get my first pair of Looks in the late 80s? I forget, really.
Talking about the 3 bolt design with red or black plastic cleats.
We have all seen silver and black, 'carbon' and metal, Look and the "compatibles".
But have you got any with those crazy colors from the past.
Now where did those purple ones get to? Surely, not discarded?

I still ride on Look Delta cleats on my nice-weather bike with bright red Look Carbo Pro's (replacement for stolen Dura Ace). BTW I have a set of Kelme Looks identical to those in the pic above in my parts bin.

These given to me by a guy who rides his bikes pretty hard. (HAHA, sort of an inside joke)

I've got two pairs of the white, LOOK licensed, Campagnolo pedals. One pair is on my Marinoni and another NOS, in box. Also, a pair of black LOOK Carbon on my regular rider Gianella.

i've had no trouble selling these on craigs, both times to out-of-towners.
people get used to their particular pedal system and get locked-in, so to speak.

I use them. The original looks are pretty heavy, but they work great, don't cost a lot and are "appropriate upgrades" for mid-late 80s bikes.

I have Looks on a couple bikes, and the Look-licensed Shimano 105 pedals on another. All take Delta cleats and work great. The bearings always seem good in them no matter how beaten the body gets. A great bargain imho.

I have a set of those. They came with an '89 Koga-Miyata Fullpro I bought. They are very, very difficult to unclip. I don't know if something is wrong with them or what.

I never really noticed any difference between these and the SPD-SLs I use on the road. Are you using the right Look cleats? I don't even know if Deltas would fit, as I've only had the Arcs.

Though I no longer use the "delta" clip Looks, I think I've had about 20 or more pair, at least.
1-The basic white Looks that everyone had to have when they came out.
2-The silver Shimano 105 version.
3-The white Shimano 6401 version. The white Shimano 7401 version.
4-The white Campagnolo version.
5-Yellow PP296's.
6-Black Ironman A3.1's
7-Red A3.1's
8-Blue Arc version
9-Black "Carbon"
10-Black "Carbon Pro"
11-Black "just like the Carbon"
12-Red "Carbon"
14-Red "Carbon Pro"
15-Red "just like the Carbon"
16-Black resin models (light and my favorites)
17-Yellow Mavic version
18-Titanium 6400 "Tri-color" version. Yes, they made 'em in Ti.
19-Grey Arc version
20-The toe clip model (yep, toe clips that clip in)
21 and up-I'm sure I am missing one or two versions, at least.
BubbaGump would be proud....
The delta models were always solid, dependable, easy to get into and out of, and you could generally find a color that didn't clash too much with your bike. They were always easy to find on line and locally, still are, and are a great value for the money. They were lighter than most toe clip pedals and the cleats are available and cheap.
Probably the best product, overall for it's time, that Look developed. Surely the reason I now ride the Keo, Keo2, and Keo2Max versions, because I trust the brand. There are probably better pedals out there; the magazines certainly think so, but perhaps not as popular a brand. I like that Look has no problem with Exustar, Wellgo, Forte, etc copying their compatibility. either.
As far as compatibility with Shimano-NOT. The cleats look similar, and getting in is one thing. Getting out is another. I learned this when cehowardGS came to pick up an Ironman. He clipped in with his Shimano cleats and took off. 10 minutes later, he was back, yelling that we needed to catch him and hold him up, he couldn't unclip. Shows what wisdom he had; I'd have been the guy who rolled up, stopped, and fell over.
For several years, every bike that left my garage as a sale came with Look pedals and a set of cleats.

I have a set of 396 Laurent Jalabert signature and a dayglo yellow set of 296. I would get a lot of squeaks and creaks from the 396s and had to constantly clean and sand the rough spots on the cleats. I went to Keos and never " looked" back.
I was planning on selling these this spring, if anyone is interested with that ringing endorsement.

I rode the crap out of several pairs of PD-7401s for many years. I finally switched to SPD-SL around 2005 or so.
I had the same experience with the PD 7401s and figured it was a cleat design or material problem. It would polish to a smooth surface on the back edge and then squeak. Took about 40 miles to start after roughing up the area.
I found a pair in the garage a few days ago that mostly look like these.

Still use the red Look Carbon Pro from 1986. Must have about 50k on them and never serviced. Spring plates are very worn, but they still work flawlessly. Also have a set of the EVac pedals from 1987? On the commuter. They served as off road pedals for a few years, too. Look Delta pedals must be the most durable pedals out there. Yes, the squeak when the cleat interface is dirty. I also lube them with wax before each ride to cut down on the squeaking. All these years and miles later prove to me that the extra spent then was the right thing to do.

Yes, I still have some (original Looks and Look licensed versions from Shimano and Campagnolo). In fact, those are the only clipless pedals I have. Everything else is either platform or slotted cleats.

Anybody want to dump some white ones in good condition PM me.
for the BubbaG in @RobbieTunes - do you keep a spread sheet on every bike, component and o-ring that passes through your hands, or merely a photographic memory? Nice database, BTW.

I have a pair of the clunky white ones. Or is it two pairs? Can't remember if either one is installed on a bike.
I also have a pair of the Shimano 1055 ones. They are on a bike with a complete 1055/6/7 group.
I like riding in those shoes and cleats, but walking sucks.

I have one pair of Shimanos that work well with the Delta cleats.

Yeah, I bought the bike from the original owner who hardly rode it, and he included his soft travel case and his '89 vintage purple/green Shimano shoes with the original Look cleats. All virtually brand new. I've almost fell over trying to unclip from those things.
