New To Me Wheels

My 2003 Lemond Poprad, new to me, is possibly going to become my latest favorite bike to ride. I bought this bike last Sunday and have put around 140 miles on it M-F. It is a pure pleasure to ride. I have been wanting an 853 Reynolds frame for quite awhile. I had never even been on one before. With the 9 speed Ultegra upgrades on the components, and wheels upgraded to Mavic Open Pro rims with Ultegra hubs, powder coated last year. The bike is every bit as good as I have been led to believe from numerous sources. That includes much input form BF members. Certainly worth the 5 bills I paid for it. The ride is smooth and the frame is much stiffer than my Ochsner. I have long legs, 33 in. inseam, and arms, 22 in, for someone 5' 8" tall, and am very comfortable on bikes that traditional wisdom says are too big for me. The Lemond and the Ochsner are both 57 cm. the standover is 32 in.

I am going to spend most of tomorrow riding the Delmarva coastal area, Rehoboth Beach to Assateague Island. That will include 3 boardwalks, 2 inlets, numerous bayside scenic areas and a national/state park famous for its wild horses. Also going to include Pomodoro's pizza, best pizza in this area, and at least one other food stop. I am taking my tablet with me and will get some pictures of the Lemod in the great outdoors.

For now, I have these two pictures of the bike after switching out the handlebars and stem, Ritchey logic ll to Zipp bars and 4 axis to Easton EA90 stem. Also new red Fizik tape and a blue saddle bag, I like the color contrasts with the sort of light yellowish cream color. Not in the pictures, but I mounted a Cateye Padrone wireless computer.

Just cleaned/polished and lubed.

I like the color contrasts.

Cool- you'll love it. I've got one of the True Temper OX frames - light and snappy also. I recently put 32c Gravel Kings on it. At 50-60 psi, they are amazing.

Reynolds 853 is as good as any steel that is available for bike frames. If the bike fits and is in good shape, you did well.

My 2003 LeMond Tourmalet is still a fave.
