Colnago Fontana Poland

Disclaimer I like Colnagos I have too many. I have no connection with the seller. I do not advocate buying the bike. I just thought it was interesting. The bike has certainly had a hard life, but it Is what it is. Ed

With a last name like mine and considering my love of all things Colnago, I should put a bid in of this one - If it was only my size.

It will never sell at that price. The guys got 6 pages of really nice stuff on EBay. With really optimistic prices. The only value was in the paint and that's shot.Ed

interesting custom tubing label, obviously "Columbus inspired" and probably drawn for Fontana by Big C, but what do you think it actually is?
SL, SP blend, TreTubi?

Looks like a '79-'81 Super. Set up for recessed brakes, but also the older, poiny-stemmed BB cutout and top-of-BB-shell gear cable guides. And no pantographing in the seatstay caps, either.

Any later and the BB shell cutout would have the flat-bottomed stem and the cable routing would be underneath the BB shell - and the caps would have Colnago engraving, too.

Concur that's too much for a repaint.
