Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What size chainring do you have there? Also, did you need a special hub for that 42t cog? I should research this stuff

32 absolute black spiderless ring up front (would prefer 30 probably) and no, just take out a cog and put the big one in the back. With the sram x7 type 2 derailleur all it took was a few turns of the b screw and shifts like a dream.

Thanks. I'm finding more trails that are just too straining for me to ride SS, unfortunately.

does that mean its a 9 speed? if so does it have a matching 9 spd RD?

i thought the huge sram x cassettes needed a special hub driver to accommodate the 10t ring?

It is 10 speed with the 42 tooth "adapter" cog. So 11-42 ten speed with 10 speed RD.
