40 mile Ride on brand new Brooks B-17 Imperial
Went on a benefit ride through 5 horse farms today 40 miles, beautiful countryside, but the hills in Lexington my GOD! Anyway my new Brooks did great though I have one minor complaint and that is that now I need another for my commuter. I think what I will do is buy the narrow for my road bike and put this one on the commuter. For a brand new saddle never ridden or broken in to leave me with ZERO pain in my posterior I just cannot say enough. If you are considering or on the fence I say GO FOR IT. It has taken me 4 saddles to get a good fit but now I know I have the one for me.
By the way the ride route was really cool. Saw Man-o-Wars stable and grave.

I love my Brooks Flyer Pre-aged. But everyone is different. I had a cheap Velo plush that was also very comfortable, but that was years ago.

It was love at first ride for me also. I have two B17s, one special and one standard. Great saddles, I need more of them for my other rides.

No photos, with two small kidos and one on the way time was pressing on me. Had to be finished in a little less than 3 hours.

Oh dont get me wrong, I wouldn't have it any other way myself.....Just a few more climbs then my normal routes but all in all a great feeling of accomplishment.

I have a brooks flyer, no cut out. I love it. I never use padded shorts and can ride for hours with no discomfort. Never tried a brooks with the cut out. No need to for me.

I have no comparison however I do not think I really needed the cutout I just think that if it is offered with relief then maybe it is better for the prostate (I really dont know). This morning my legs and arms were sore like they are after long rides but my butt had no soreness at all. Usually my posterior is really tender after a 30 mile ride not today. Best bang for the buck I have spent cycling so far.

After 30 years of Turbo and Turbomatic saddles I bought a B17 on eBay for $80 new. Loved it right from the start. I've heard these stories about Brooks break in torture for years and have no idea what people are talking about.

brooks imperial is a great saddle, I use it for rides longer than 50 miles.

I too love my Imperial! I also didn't have the "Break-in Blues" that I've read about here as it felt perfect right out of the box. Any bike in the future will have a Brooks saddle installed prior to having it roll out of the shop.
