When will this carbon nonsense end?
This is getting ridiculous:

For your information I also came across bibs with carbon inserts...

That looks fairly useless... my nylon saddlebag holds 2 spare tubes, 3 tire levers, two bottles of co2 and my co2 gun. It's probably the same size as that eyesore of a CF contraption.

Next thing you know Coach and LV will be unveiling carbon fiber purses and clutches and stuff with titanium and magnesium/manganese clasps, maybe even anodized.

To be honest, that wouldn't surprise me one bit... with the new generations growing with extreme ADHD, they need flashy and pretty things to keep their attention.

I want to seem them make big ol' newsboy baskets out of carbon fiber. Make the wire parts aero-shaped, too.

CF television sets, titanium manicure/pedicure sets, magnesium doorknobs, anodized titanium keys and keychains..... I can see it now. These youngsters out here should be persuaded to be Marketing majors - that industry should be big soon and its a couple years too late for me.

Now we need a Ti seat bag. Which could theoretically be the Ultimate Fred Velo Accoutrement.

You know the carbon and Ti craze has been going on for 10 years with super sport motorcycles. Much worse over there.

Carbon fibres are everywhere these days, but people should stick to useful stuff (airplanes, automotives, boats, bike frames), not accessories.
It's like mullet and it will eventually phase out (I hope) but yea... people just have to stop buying useless carbon fibre accessories just because it is carbon fibre

I'm waiting for a carbon bedpan and woven nylon catheters for veteran Weight Weenies.

A CF rack is a dumb idea. What I can understand is why I can't buy CF bolts or bearings? The ones I have now weigh a ton...

I like it.
Oh, and carbon bar tape? Not as pointless as it seems. It looks kind of nice, especially with a carbon set of bars to blend it in. also, the stuff wears like iron. I've had one set of it on my commuter for over three years now, with thousands of miles riding in some of the worst PacNW weather, and it still looks like new. My gloves are worn out, long before the bar tape. You can't say that about cork or even the foam stuff. I've tried just about all types of tape over the eyars, and that synthetic carbon look-alike tape is without a doubt some of the longest lasting I've ever used.
Say whatever you want, but it's a worthy item to have. imo.

I flyfish and I was at the Flyfishing shop today. They had a carbon fiber Fly Box.... What a bunch of BS. They were only $39.00.
I bought two..... Can't stand heavy plastic flyboxes when I'm waist deep in a nice river.
