I cant even climb the hill on my local mountain bike course. There are not many things in life that make me feel like an old man, but mountain biking around a bunch of kids is definitely one.

Otherwise want to do a dirty dozen Raleigh ride. Not very big like Pitt. But a few decent ones. Maybe a case o beer to points winner.
AOMM was a good challenge but driving and bus logistics a zoo. Been there done that got the patch.
A few local KOMs I’m after.
I want to redo just Mitchell proper in close to 2 hrs as possible.

I can't say if I'll make them, but there are 3 wicked hill rides up in Portland every year.

The full Category 2, Latigo Canyon climb, from Malibu PCH to Mulholland and then some. The toughest average grade of 4 percent climb you will most likely find. Its one of those constant mixes of steep and easy sections. So, you would be tricked if you didn't actually know the layout and decided to tackle it just based on the average grade rating.

Every one that I can...
I am a sick person. I live to climb. That is not to say that I am good at them, it is just that the climb is investment into yourself.
Every year when I go out west, I find myself on some gravel road or trail heading up through a mountain pass and relish in just pedaling away. Sure I get irritable on them at times but I have yet to find the climb that kills me.

I never really plan on doing a hill climb

I try and climb Kitchen Creek (3,300 ft) and Gibraltar Rd (5,500 ft) once a year.
Not much for some of you guys, but both these climbs have a five or six mile stretch that packs in about 2,500 vertical.

I haven't done a ride yet this year with more than 3,000ft of vertical in it, and it's been absolutely wonderful. I'm sure that as it warms up I'll probably end up doing the mountains again, but I'm not missing it at all right now.

Well, I don't have all the climbs in front of me yet; there's plenty of time, but I am planning on riding Portland's RondePDX in a month with 7000' of climbing n 50 miles, all in my backyard. In June, I am signed up for the inaugural Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder with 20-30,000' over 5 days then Cycle Oregon to Crater Lake, 30,000' over 7 days which I am planning to ride fix gear. (Bringing cogs, a double-sided wheel and a lightweight chainwhip. I'm not a masochist.)
Crater Lake will be the North Entrance from Diamond Lake. Shorter, less elevation difference than 7 years ago when we approached from the south but a much harder climb and much more fun descent. (I did both by accident last time.) This year it is the rest day option.

We have Palomar Mountain near San Diego. When I ride my motorcycle up there I see groups of hardcore cyclist crawling up the mountain slowly. Its very twisty and the cars/motorcycles are zipping by them at high speeds. Its also very steep and requires a great deal of endurance. They get more respect from me than any motorcyclist on that mountain.
