Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Madone, $1200 - Is This for Real?

Man, this sounds far too good to be true, is this a scam? What's up with it?

I think it is funny that they list the wheels as Bontrager race lites but then correctly as Mavic Ksyrium ES

Scam.

Any auction that tells you to contact them outside of ebay with a BIN is a rip off.
There's been a lot of these types of auctions for high end bikes recently.

It strikes me as odd that there are 25 bids on an high priced item with a seller that has a feedback rating of 12 at 92%

Only two things in the world are infinite, the universe and people's gullibility in the face of greed.

I'm pretty sure that wheelset alone is worth more than the current high bid...

Sorry for my late reply, and late post of the same topic. Anyways, the seller just pulled the auction at the last minute. I asked if the Bike was real carbon and a 54 cm available. I got a reply like this:

"Thank you for your question. We currently do not stock 54 cm. However, a 56cm should fit you fine. Bid now and bid high for your dream bike!"

Yeah, kiss my a$$.
