Seems like folks wear shorts until they wear out, but there are plenty of name brand jerseys that are new or near new. I'll usually buy a little large if I'm not familiar with how the brand fits. Worst case, if it doesn't fit, I'll trade with a friend or resell and only be down $10. I try to avoid the Chinese specials and no-name brands - they tend to fit funny and the seams wear quickly.

I'll buy used jerseys. I've been disappointed a few times when the condition wasn't as good as expected (stains,missing stitching,etc. not shown in photo, and seller didn't mention them).
I'll buy used bibs if the seller included a photo of a CLEAN chamois.
