The issue is mostly price i cant afford a shwalbe pro one at 80 bucks a tire 1 hole and it will never seal or work right again.?so i get them at 40 ish . merlin has the gp4ks2 a pair is like 60 something Now . and thats just mouth watering.
A race/ training tire should not be over 50 bucks maybe 60 usd.
The gp4ks2 is hands down the best tire out . i cant think of any other tire i would use . maybe the corsa gs at around 40 usd . i could give the ultra sports a try at 15 bucks if picked up a set of spare wheels .
the crowd is pretty decided on what the best tire is . thats really the point conti makes these new claims but in the it will be tested by the masses and id put money on the tires being worse based on everything getting worse . giving people a better tire isnt going to benefit the customer it will benefit the company .

by the way Continental owes you NOTHING! they offered a tire, and now they don't. I have yet to hear why it was bad for them, Only why it was bad for you. Unfortunately that's the way it is in 2018 and will be worse in 2019 and even more so in 2020. Because its a me me me world and if people don't get what they want. Tantrums abound!

Sure, but you're comparing the new retail with the street price - I'm sure that the Conti will come down. Also, I haven't ridden the Pro One, but I don't think that anyone has ever accused them of being long-wearing. I would be shocked if the Contis weren't good for significantly more mileage than the Schwalbes.

I have gone through 6 Schwalbe Pro One's and although fast and handle great, they are not durable. I have seen mixed reviews. A few club members have tried these Conti 5000 tubeless and said the same thing. Fast but with a plastic feel. No complaints.
I found this place with a better price... They are in Germany. I will report back after I put on a few hundred miles.
Even with the pricey shipping they are cheaper than $95 a tire in the USA.

I'm looking forward to reading/heading about real life reviews of these Conti tubeless tyres. I have never been a member of 'Cult Conti' but maybe I can be won over. Provided of course the Kool-Aid is cherry flavoured. I've never been a grape guy.

I am sure it's a great product. I have had good results from the 4000 model, I even have Conti

I bet it's a lot easier to make a sufficiently grippy tire when you have 4 contract patches the size of dollars bills, vs 2 dime sized ones. Are the car tires made to be very light weight?

It might be interesting or enlightening if you were to send these snaps off to Continental directly with an innocent question as to whether they're sure the bike tire pricing is indeed correct.. just to see what type of rationale or response comes back.

My LBS got a pair of the conti 5k tubeless, fit them to his bike, and promptly cancelled the order he had placed with his suppliers. Apparently they are an absolute b*tch to fit. He was pretty disappointed to be honest, as the GP4000ii were his most popular tyre. When my 4000s wear out, I will probably try the Pirelli tyres.
