Okay, this thread is a good read but I've read about half of it and no one has mentioned the Carter Family, with Sarah Carter lead vocal and Maybelle Carter lead guitar? In 1929?

Sorry to admit but I have a very narrow selection of artist on whom I'd bother to see these days. Overload of bubblegum hip-hop country and over artificial studio to live acts is about on par with fake news over AM radio.

Perhaps obscure to many but who rocks the soul of 'classic' is Cathy Richardson. Highly recommend to see her at any venue.

Lots of good stuff mentioned. Reminds me I'm overdue for a round of acquisitions to my ever expanding library. Among more focused ones, I've got this one giant, random playlist that I keep adding anything I like, it can run for about a week without repeating. Currently playing and upcoming:

Ahhh. Winamp. Thought it had died and gone away, always loved it, especially the jingle, Winamp, it really whips the llama's ... by DJ Mike Llama.

It had some pretty cool skins.

Linda Ronstadt was a cutie and had a nice voice. But compared to Billie Holiday and 90% of the other Women on this thread She just sings other peoples songs. Sometimes as "Guy's" we need to think with our big head rather than our little one.

The album is titled, White Chalk.

Simple, beautiful, haunting.
