Show Us Your Bikes Starting With A

So following on from the monthly colour threads, here's your chance to show us your bikes alphabetically!

It goes like this: every fortnight I'll start a new thread with a new letter in alphabetical order. Post your bikes that correspond to that letter, eg; C = Cinelli, Carlton, Ciocc. M = Mercian, Masi, Motobecane. And so on and so forth. The letter of the fortnight should correspond with the marque, not the model. For example; you could post your Tommasini Prestige in the T thread, but not in the P thread. If you're not sure, take a look at the word on your downtube. There's a grey area with people's names - Bruce Gordon, Claud Butler, etc., but I'll leave it up to the owners which thread is preferred. Make sense?

So let's see your Atalas, Apollos and Arancinis...hang on.

A is for Araya, waiting for paint.
Primered all white, but a Ghost Bike it ain't.
It once was quite red; as red as can get.
Built for my wife, who ain't rode it yet,

My paint plans are fluid:
White/yellow? White/blue?
Once I sort through my spray cans
I'll know just what do.

And when it no longer
Looks a specter of death?
Will my wife ride it then?
Well, don't hold your breath.

Another A bike, my Apollo it seems
Has acquired some Italian in its Japanese genes.
But, no, it's a fraud; its livery faux
And the total effect is only so-so.

From a safe distance
It screams "Sono Legnano!"
But from really up close
The paint looks like guano.

What a cool thread idea! I'll have to catch up with you in B[ianchi] and C[apo], because I gave away my Armstrong -- a basic English 3-speed converted to drop bars and 3x4 hybrid gearing with a Cyclo 14-16-18-20 cog block on an extra-long Sturmey Archer rear axle. The AW ratios gave me the equivalent of a 53-40-30 / 14-16-18-20 pure derailleur setup, with 10 nicely-spaced unique ratios and duplicates at the cross-chains.

Just back from "surgery" at Hanford Cyles in Philadelphia. Had them braze-on Paul Racer centerpulls, add braze ons for fender mounts and configure for internal wiring in the down tube and front fork. They did a great job matching the existing paint and painted a set of Honjos for me in the same color. An additional bonus was they gave me the left over paint to use for touch up.
