I was supposed to have whole bunch of TX300 parts delivered today. Turns out there was a domestic dispute at the same time a substitute post person was trying to deliver. Guess how many cops it take to make a post worker say “**ck it?”

Got a nice lightly used Ebay Brooks saddle for my '78 Super Course project. One tiny scuff, but way better than the bike it's going on. Rainy day, so a good time to slather on the Proofride. 😀

Thanks to both Miguel, and Jon... Between the Campy head that got here last week, and the black Impero that showed up today, the frame has been properly fitted, and outfitted. @malcala622 @hazetguy

How about a NOS (actually a take-off from way back then when the owner bought the bike) Legnano cottered crank set and bottom bracket. The package has arrived, in great shape, but I do not get to see it for another two months. Pooey-stinko..!

Last week I got some Bianchi head badge knockoffs from China.
Today I got something cool from GRUPPO aka the parent company of Columbus. They sent me a moral dilemma. I sent an email asking about Bianchi SBX stickers and they sent me these, but what do I do with them?
I also got one of those world traveling hipster "yeah I been there" bracelets with 3 countries to start off.
Singapore, Qatar and the U.A.E. to start about 7 or 8 to go but I think I need to get custome made ones for Wake Island and Diego Garcia

Got a nice Sakae Apex triple for my '78 Super Course project. Complete package, nice crank, clean chain wheels, correct BB, bearings, even crank bolts and caps. I've been playing with a Campy GS 53/42, which is beautiful, but this is a better setup for me. Hopefully it will all clear the frame, which has a straight chainstay, without clearance indent.

A Knipex 86 03 125 Mini pliers wrench and Knipex 97 22 240 Crimping Pliers
I have some lighting to setup soon and wanted to get a proper crimping tool.
Other bike tools for scale.
It's usable for bolts up to 23 mm (7/8 Inch) and anything in between. Best of all, pretty lightweight at 104 grams (3.67 oz). Lighter than the combined weight of a 8/9 and 10mm wrench and self-ratcheting. Kind of spendy though...
Might have been a bit of an impulse buy.
It does help lighten the tool kit though.

^^^^^ Knipex tools are very very good, actually some of the best. I have 3, the midsize version of your pliers/wrench, one like a channellock pliers, and a cable cutter. They'll be around long after I'm gone.

Yes, it looks like the ones in the link, can't really tell the size but mine are the same size as my pliers/wrench - maybe 8-9" long. Not as much leverage as 12" channel-locks but will not slip. The cable cutter has crimp notches on the handle side of the pivot - they're great for crimping cable ends. Top quality tools. There was an article on cyclingtips recently about someone that cut the blades of the pliers/wrench down to 2mm thickness so that it would work as a cone wrench. Basically covers all usual sizes in one tool. I would buy one of those, since most of the hubs I need to service are cup and cone.

Yeah that was a fun read. Makes you wonder though how expensive the process is. The mini 125mm has a 3 mm wide beak and it does seem to fit on pedals and such.
They are also featured heavily in this list.
