Replacing Worn Studs

After 3 years and a couple thousand miles, the studs on my 45NRTH Dillingers were worn out. I bought the stud tool and 100 45NRTH studs, fairly easy and quick.

Here are the new studs (left) and old studs (right)

Here's a quick video of removing and replacing a stud (spray is plain water to help them slide in)

I did the center rows for the front tires, I think that's 80 studs. It didn't take long (~30 minutes), but my hand was cramping up by the time I was done.

Last year I studded an entire 3.8" Gnarwhal with salvaged outer row studs from my worn out set of Marathon Winter tires, the stud tool handle could be bigger to spread the force over a larger area. Friday night I installed 152 grip studs in a new Surly Lou tire, that twisting motion does a number on the forearm.
