Being 61 years old that ain't gonna happen, but thanks for the good wishes.
I do feel better after two martinis, though.

@mollusk - fresh creosote on the wood? I slipped and fell on a dock like that, walking in my cycling shoes. Landed flat on my back, smacked my (luckily) helmeted head pretty hard. That stuff's slicker than snot on a doorknob.

Probably better here than the Days of Our Lives Thread.
I solo crashed today.
So did my former pro friend that I was riding with.
It has been ultra wet recently even for northern Florida and we were crossing a wooden bridge. We were taking it easy (18 mph) and chatting as suddenly he goes down. I ride for a second and look over my left shoulder (with that tiny bit of counter steer you need to do) trying to say "You OK" and before I get the words out I am on the deck.
Imagine a wet railroad rail that is 40 feet wide attempting this.
Neither one of us hurt badly, but we will have some really nice bruises.

Crit Practice - Everyone got all alpha since there were no Pro's or 1's. Lots of screaming. Since the season is over and daylight is diminishing only about 20 showed. Spent a lot of time in the front, on the last lap I was in no mans land 15s off the leader and 10s off the pack. It didn't end well but all around it was a good confidence booster.

Early summer I switched to an easier style of openers because I was afraid the harder ones were using too much energy, but it being the last race of the season I tried the ones I was doing back in the spring and they seem to work a lot better. No dead leg feeling which is something I've been wrestling with for the past couple of months on race days. I think I'll be sticking with this version come next season.

Mollusk, where in north Florida are you (if you don't mind me asking)? I grew up in Jacksonville and still make it down there a few times a year.
Sorry about the crash, and hope the recovery goes well.

I guess it's openers for everyone today, that's my plan as well. I didn't do them last week (kinda busy), and hoo boy did I pay for that on Saturday. I just need to keep them relatively easy, I'm pretty tired this week.

Not me. Rode my old commuterized Rock Hopper as slowly as possible this morning. The only opener for me was my mouth as I shoved another bagel in it.

No openers here either, also no bagels though it might be burger night so I have that going for me! Some mileage on tap tomorrow so I figure i need the calories or something like that.

2.5 hrs, honestly not all that great lol i did 5 1min efforts, in theory 150% but couldn't quite hit my target on most of them (tail wind + rolling terrain + bad timing). so not only did those not go well, but the rest of the ride was kinda meh, my lungs kind of hurt with deep breaths and couldn't find a good power-cadence balance (either good cadence and under power or good power and lower cadence). Oh well, either very easy or off tomorrow, hopefully with some apple picking, maybe go down and watch the mayors cup tomorrow with my son and show him what good racers look like!

Zecanon intervals yesterday. Those were tough, especially after 2 crits Sunday, lifting Monday, intervals Tuesday, and 3 hours Z2 Wednesday.
Did ATG squats this morning for the first time in forever. Have been starving ever since. I forgot what squats do to the appetite.
Fun to lift again.

Pretty sore in places today, but nothing broken. A couple of nice bruises and very little road rash due to the slippery nature of the pavement. Commuted by bike today without problem. Planning on going out for a couple of hours tomorrow morning.
I do have to say that this riding just for fun, general fitness, and mental health is nice! I do miss being as fast as I used to be, though. It really takes a lot of work to be race fit and I commend you guys for doing it.

No, keeping weekly TSS between 500-600 weekly and keeping the lifting sessions brief. My racing is basically done for the year at this point; pushing it a bit in training has been fun this week. I'll keep a close eye on recovery and see how I feel Monday. I've got a pretty darn good idea at this point of what will push me over the edge, overreaching-wise.

My garmin flashed "GOOD" on the screen today during my ride... I guess that's good? Still figuring out this new gadget.
It also told me my Vo2Max is 51. That's better than Lance right?
Anyway I hammered for about 1.5 hours, slobbering and whatnot.
