Picked up a Merckx 7-11 today
Unfortunately it's a 56 and I ride a 54.
It is built with a mix of 7s Chorus and Athena. I have it mostly stripped, apart from the stuck stem. The stuck seat post came out with moderate effort, the stem will take some work.
Pics tomorrow in the daylight. The red splash tape is glorious.

For those that have PM'ed me for pictures. I didn't have a chance to clean it up today, I'm hoping I will tomorrow. I just got to my Winter home 3 days ago, and believe it or not, there are priorities above bicycles, even a Merckx 7-11.
56 CTC seat tube, 56.5 CTC top tube. Corsa Extra (SLX). Chrome rear triangle, flat crown chrome fork.
It looks just like this one on Bulgier, except mine says Corsa Extra on the top tube, not 7 Eleven Team, and is SLX, not TSX. I'll post the serial number a bit later tonight for our resident, inside, expert, @CyclesMakaron

That's a beautiful bike and my size but I don't have anything in a 54 to trade. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.

@CyclesMakaron The serial number is
6x B
3359
1988-89 Corsa Extra 56cm?
The forum will not allow me to properly space the serial number, but hopefully you understand.

That's a beauty. I wish I had a 54 worthy of trading for it. That's on the short list of bikes I'd like to acquire given the chance.

I finished the clean up of the frame and fork, but haven't had time to get to the components yet. It came out pretty darn good.

Very nice. I’m afraid to ask what something like that sells for.
