Hi Folks
Just wanted to introduce my new "city" bike. I have been riding track bikes around town for a few years now, but after a knee over-use injury on a long ride down the coast, and the subsequent pain caused by using that knee to stop my bike, I started thinking it might be time to not wheel around brakeless so often. I want to keep my track bike pretty pure (ie Im not putting a brake on it) and my weekend road bike is way too nice to lock up around town, so I decided to get a bike thats just a litttle bit less nice in hopes that I can ride it daily. Im not entirely sure how I did in this goal. (Though I figure I'll find out here)
Please meet my new 1984 Cinelli Super Corsa. I got a screaming deal on an 06 carbon record group and so I moved the 03 chorus/record setup from my road bike onto the Cinelli. I got a pair of cinelli Giro bars with a stem from a friend and stole the seatpost and saddle from the track bike for now. Ive taken it out on a few rides so far and Im really happy with how it rides. Its about 3lbs heavier than the look, but has a really fun feel to it. The modern chorus/record gear feels real sharp (esp with a new ultra-narrow chain) and I think the whole feeling is like a vintage F1 car. Its classy and fast. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy it, I know I will!

After turning my SCOTT CR1 in to a weight weenie racing machine, I started looking for a second bike. Something a bit more durable and comfortable. Steel became the frame material of choice, and ultimately, one thing led to another and I ended up with this-
A Ciocc Columbus SLX 1977 San Cristobal replica. It has a mere 15-20 miles on it, and everything about it is beautiful and flawless.

Since I'm a young guy, I take integrated brake/shifting for granted, thus this will be a modern, yet classically inspired build, and all Italian. Campy Chorus all around, some parts older pre-carbon, some parts newer carbon accented components. Wheels will be Scirocco's temporarily, but I plan to pick up a pair of either silver Vento's or gold Khamsin's shod with Vittoria tires. The seat, a white selle italia flite gel flow, is already on the way, as is a Cinelli bar and stem
I'm super excited to go Italian and a little old school and can't wait to see how the Columbus slx steel rides!
Updates to come!

Why has nobody mentioned that Ciocc yet?
The bike reminds me of a line from the Vice Do's and Don't, which went something like, "If these damned 'hot' girls knew how little we're attracted to them, they'd sh*t a brick of coke."
Well, if some of you damned "race" bikers knew how little I'm attracted to your Madones and Cervelos and Calfees and Isaacs, you'd sh*t a brick of carbon fiber. That Ciocc is everything a bike should be; turn your Scott into a spaceship and send it to Saturn.

Hey, just bought my 06 s-works brand new. Took it out for the first time today...for about a mile, and I must say, the bike is great and I love it. After just a mile though I was absolutely winded. This is my first road bike...I'm a beginner...and I haven't even rode a bicycle since I was in Junior High. I maxed out at 21.3 mph....obviously I got carried away...that's when I did a short sprint at the beginning. After I got home and caught my breath, I already wanted to get out and ride again. I obviously still need to develop those cycling specific muscles, and develop a better cardio, but I can't see a better way of accomplishing this than on this bike.

Interesting choice for your first bike. Talk about jumping in with both feet.

My new ride.
I got this after some *****hole stole my beloved yellow bike. Upgrade junkie maybe? Enjoy the eye candy!
Look 585 titan weave with Campagnolo Zonda wheels. Poor lighting:
I felt Centaur shifting was too sluggish for my tastes. Chorus is a night/day difference!
After getting my B17 for my commuter/touring bike, I was hooked:
I was debating about getting a square taper or a thru axle. I also wondered about the new Campy cranks, but I'm surprised how well these work...50/34 compact rings.
11-25 cassette.
My seatstay is bent!
So is my chainstay!!

Look's famous 585 BB:
I need to get rid of some stickers ....
I'm gonna hate these dropouts ....
Speedplay Zeros. I had the Tyler Hamilton edition before. That's the one huge regret about my other bike getting stolen ... the TH edition cannot be found anymore.

Nice Specialized. Free2move you really like that mint green colored bar tape...
BTW Your photo reminds me of this elementary school I would walk by once in awhile when I staying in Suwon... not saying you are in SK but seeing the window's reflection of the tall apartment building and the building your bike is laying against just brought back memories.
