Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

grahny,
thanks.the DeRosa is my personal favorite as well. bought her new in '79 and the ride is as lovely as her looks. It remains, to this day, my reference point of how a good racing bike should handle- silky smooth, stable, & predictable, yet quick, nimble and intuitive. No other bike I've ever ridden inspires as much confidence and daring, esp on fast, steep, & twisty descents.

MIN,
thanks also for the compliment. I call the '02 Cinelli Aliante Muscle, my "BMX" bike and he's always gotten "love it or hate it" type reactions. The look is kinda stark and graphic but I think it suits the bike's personality well. It's perhaps the best climber/sprinter I've owned and just loves being flogged.

best,
k

You really havent done much wrong here at all. Check into some yoga classes so you can get that steerer tube cut and it will be rocking. Also run the bike over to that lovely garage door in the background and reshoot - will bring up the bike much better

It balances out really -- you use no gas when you cycle, then you use the reserves of a small country when you take that truck to the shops...

Awesome bike and auto btw.

If one must nitpick...

1. cages don't match.
2. Shimano on a Pinarello?
3. 404s would've been better as tubies.

Major props for Campy Shamals. Those are amazing wheels! You've got yourself a beautiful frame there - very tasteful build.

Minor negative style points for the threadless to threaded adapter, however! In my opinion, a quill stem would look fantastic on that bike.

Strange you might suggest the quill stem - I went that way a few days ago. Thankyou.

How can you guys bring yourselves to take those bikes on the streets? I could never ever bring something over $1000 (let alone $5000+) on the streets where I live. I ride a Schwinn World Sport that has been converted to single speed. Light, fast, agile, yet can take a beating (4130 cro-moly) Perfect for the congested streets of Chicago.

The seat has since been replaced with a Selle Italia XO and I have a set of RPD15 wheels that I'm waiting to relace to new single speed hubs.
