Story Time

Last night I decided I was gonna take a trip to the grocery store. Actually I bike to this store almost daily for one thing or the other. Put my daughter in her trailer and head off. Everything goes find until I'm on my way back. Headed down the last street before my last turn, with headlight and taillight blinking, signaling my left hand turn, doing the 25mph speed limit, some girl yells out...

"Dude, its called a sidewalk"

From the sidewalk. I was so surprised, I couldn't respond before they were out of ear shot...
I'd like to see what she would have said had I been doing 25mph down the side walk with my trailer...
That is actually the first time someone has said anything to me about riding in the street.

The proper rejoinder is to remind them that the root of the word is "Walk" not "Ride."

A ped telling you to get on the sidewalk?

My brain hurts.

Especially 'cause you were riding with a trailer.

Maybe she was joking? I have a friend that is fond of yelling "Get a car!" from his bike. Just about anything else she could possibly have yelled would make more sense.

.

Heres theres a new law, you get tickets if you ride on sidewalks lol, can they not find better ways to make money, aparently bike police can do that, but I rarely see them, I ride the same bike as them, It was theirs, I supported them to ride it, They should just turn away. lol I wish I was a bike police, what a fun job

My favorite response (shamelessly lifted from another BF member) when yelled at to get on the sidewalks is: "I can't the Clowns might get me"
