Cycling from Thailand to Vietnam & Cambodia

A friend and I plan to ride from Udon Thani to Da Nang Vietnam, Pleiku, then into Cambodia to Battambang. Planned departure is around the first week in Jan 2019. This is still a plan in the making if you will so it may change a bit. I know someone sent me a PM but I can't reply to PM yet because I'm new to the forum. You can reply here or to my em addy fdimike@gmail.com

I assume that you plan to cycle through Laos or will you go south and then east through Cambodia and then north into Vietnam Danang?

Probably SE to Mukdaham then across Laos on Rte 9 to Lao Bao VN then over to the coast before turning south. The big obstacle is the Hai Vahn Pass between Hue and Danang. I cycled up and over that mountain about 10 years ago. We may opt for the train through the tunnel instead this time around.

Where in Cambodia are you planning to travel, south route from Ho Chi Minh city to Phnom Penh and then across to Battambang or through Prey Vang, Kampong Cham then to Seim Reap and down to Battambang?

Unfortunately, all my plans are now on hold. My heart doctors say I need to have my Aortic valve replaced and 1 bypass. Both are serious enough to prevent me from a tour in the immediate future. I've been limited by the docs to about 30km/day.
