I blame it on Lance and 29ers. Lance's sins disillusioned Roadies and made them question their sport. Then along came 29ers...a wheel size they could relate to. So a bunch of roadies suddenly became MTBers. Instantly drove up the 'poof factor' in MTB.

I've collected quite a bit over the years. The addiction started at Veloswap in 2000 or so. Picked up this big haul of 90's anodized bits in various colors for cheap, and it went from there.
Each bike has its particular hue. Have to be careful not to overdo things and get it too tacky looking.

I've got some anodized Canti brakes somewhere in a box of spare parts. Somehow I don't think they'll be making a comback.
