Pirelli Cinturato Velo tubeless

This is a new tire from Pirelli being marketed for “gravel” but it has obvious commuter appeal. Bike Rumor has a really long write up and the Rolling Resistance site has tested it for puncture and speed. Here are salient factoids:

tubeless style
slick tread, pretty thick
chopped kevlar in tread
alleged cleverness with silica particles shaped like rods and not spheres like you get out of that DO NOT EAT packet in your jerky
kevlar breaker under tread
wall to wall nylon layer for sidewall protection
tests show both faster and stronger than a Gatorskin
700C sizes 26-35mm
$52US

whaddya think? I’d try it.

Indeed look good for commuting or winter road bike riding.
For the commuter, as I'd probably want a 32mm, the only thing bothering me is their chart recommendation (in the bikerumor article) to use 21mm internal-width rims which I don't have.

Just to give an idea how this tire is performing, here's the 80 psi rolling resistance vs puncture score for all the roadie tires. Red dot is the Cinturato, orange is the Gatorskin and green is the Grand Prix 4 Season. Makes you wonder what they could do going down and leftward, or if there's some trade-off that's not made clear in the marketing.

Not sure why I'm nerding out so hard about this, I'm presently commuting on a MTB

Kinda a remarkable score. I wonder how they actually feel when ridden. They are a 60tpi tire.
Also.. curious on the BRR website puncture tests. When they test a tubeless tire setup and with sealant (20ml per this test), is the score a result of what it takes to puncture a tire to a degree the sealant is no longer effective? IOW, if I rode these tires with a tube, would puncture resistance be even 'better' in the lab (but not real world) as I'd be adding the thickness of an inner tube to the equation?

I mean they're still not a GP4000S2. They just score nice next to the other armored tires. The tubelessness helps a lot. Feel is subjective, maybe subjective to price and tribe. The Compass tire didn't do that well and people love 'em.

The puncture test is force to drive a 1mm needle through. Sealant or tube would make no difference to the score. It must take a lot less time to do the test for a tubeless tire!

I saw the test methodology, but don't see where they say how they determine that needle has penetrated. If visual, then that assumes they do it with uninflated tires? If inflated, then they listen for sound of escaping air?
I do wish that BRR would also test the TLR tires with tubes as a matter of course.
