Ugh... Search for a new bike starts today.
My beloved BikeFriday Tikit is lost (likely stolen)... no signs yet in the usual spots. It's time to start considering new bikes.
In the past I tested Brompton, Birdy, and a few Dahons... but I have a special need that may not be possible to accommodate with some bikes. I'm a heavy rider... weighing in at 250 lbs. I'm guessing Brompton might be the only option left for me.
Any of you know of something else out there that might work?

Did you misplace it? Or what?
Bike Friday, of course, replaced the Tikit with the Pakit.
They have a full like of bikes. I don't know what their recommended weight limit is, but if you bought new, they'd probably make one extra sturdy if you wished.
The Bike Fridays regularly show up on Craigslist up here.

I'm surprised that this Crusoe hasn't sold yet.

But understand the owner's manual states: The Brompton is designed for use on roads and well-made paths, carrying a maximum load not exceeding 110kg (rider and luggage weight included).
110 kg is 242.5 lbs.
Another option: Dahon says max load for a Curl is 130 kg - 286.6 lbs.

My Tern Joe P24 is rated to 264lbs, and riders heavier than that have used it with no issues. It is a larger wheeled folder,...mine is 26", and the newer models are a little larger. Good bike,...solid.

Thats sucks...sorry about your bike.
I'm a Clydesdale myownself and recently got a Brompton which I thoroughly enjoy. I also considered a BF Diamond Llama (?) The excellent fold is part of the deal with the Bromptons, and it's not as excellent on the BF but if that's not a priority it's likely that another BF would be the easiest and most seamless route for you. It would be for me anyway....
In any event, a new bike is always a cause celebre' so please keep us posted (and include pictures!)

LET'S ROLL
If you were happy with your Tikit; my recommendation is to get another Bike Friday.
Maybe even try to find a used Tikit. Bike Friday also has higher weight limit upgrades
on NWT and Pocket Rocket.
Brompton will fold smaller than those models. Also a lot of accessories(+ parts) offered;
both factory and aftermarket. But the ride/handling may not be for you.
You may want to add more info; intended use(commuting, touring, etc.), budget, etc.

Honestly don't know what happened. I thought I had left it work, but when I returned from a business trip, it wasn't there. Tried to retrace my steps, but came up short. I doubt it was stolen from the office (too many layers of security). The week when I lost the bike, I was working 80+ hours... so I might have done something stupid. The likeliest reason is theft.

Another Eugene builder Human powered machines , a small maker of cargo bikes ,
had a version of the Xooter Swift, made in Steel , with a front of the head tube rack or basket support.
20" wheels.. seatpost is where it folds..

Some very nice bikes on the BF preloved page. Call them and see if they have any diamond frames...they are currently doing a bike trade-in deal so probably have more bikes in the works than those listed on their page.
