Anybody else see the spectacular catch in last nights World Series. Victor Robles made an incredible leaping, twisting catch which I believe tops the legendary Willie Mays catch. I see the degree of difficulty of the Robles catch as a 10 compared to a 9 for the Mays catch. I play the outfield myself and I could see making the Mays catch on a good day . . . a really good day . . . . but I can't even picture myself making the Robles catch in my wildest dreams. The term 'spectacular' doesn't do that catch justice.

Shocked! Shocked!!
Some friends are down for part of the winter, with their road bikes. We chit chatted a little bit, until it came out that they were familiar with neither the term 'brifters' nor 'not bibs'. What other terms don't they know? I thought that ALL american cyclists would know these things. I see I've been led down the garden path.....

I can't stomach candy corn, but that's just me. Lately, I've had a stroopwafel problem.

I got my first quart of egg nog for the season!
I didn't put any SoCo in it though; it's the candy corn of whiskies.

I also got a cheesecake, and pondered what it would be like to sit down to a nice slice of cheesecake and chase it down with eggnog.

My wife picked up some the other week, I forget where, though, and Aldi got in a fresh batch a few days ago. Both were good, but the Aldi were better. They might be different than years past - the packaging is different, they were in those octagonal boxes and they seem to be a little more tender (though it's been a year, so maybe I'm misremembering).
