What a great community; positive vibes
A short time ago I picked up a Gitane Grand Tourisme from CL. (See the link to the post here https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...eird-fork.html)
Well, I stayed in touch with the seller of this frame and fork. We got together to shoot the breeze about bikes and discuss wheel building today. To my surprise the fella had a gift for me: the fenders from the Gitane.
I don't know if they are original but there they are super nice. I am ecstatic I can re-unite the fenders with the frame. Man....the vintage bike community has allowed me to meet a lot of interesting, cool and generous people both here in this forum and in person.

Those Bluemels Airweights usually have a badge on the rear mudguard. Yours may be older than 60's or 70's, they have a slightly different front mount than these. They're light and polish up beautifully although they're sometimes a little wide to fit 700c frames.

Agreed. Lots of good folks here and cycling in general. I think most of us here owe one or two to another member. Except for RT as noted above.

Thanks for the info. I was going to try to research the maker of the fenders; I havent had a chance to look them over closely, but I am fairly sure they dont have a makers mark. Thanks for info.
