Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

First Kilo, frameset got destroyed in an accident about a month back so..

I went and ordered a black magic kilo stripper. Wanted to size up anyway! More pics to come once the sun comes out, love this paint job, thinking about slapping some vintage mercier decals on there

Lookin at the reach and the amount of spacers, I think you could have even another size bigger.

I already jumped two sizes from the first kilo ( 53 to a 57 ) and it fits me great, I'd be too afraid to go any larger than what i have already

I'm seriously NOT trying to be a jerk, but what would you be afraid of? How tall are you?

a little over 6' with a 33.5 inseam, the next size up has a 34in standover and while i know its not the most important measurement i still think that'd be too much for me.

It isn't just "not the most important measurement"; it is a completely irrelevant measurement, unless you like to stand over your bike instead of riding it.. You got a bike that was too small.

Well I'm certainly comfortable with the fit of the bike

I would like to see a picture of you on the 53 vs the 57. 57 would be the bare minimum I would go, and I am your height with a shorter inseam. Currently on a 58 for both bikes.

Yes, which increases my belief that the bike is on the small side for the rider.

These measurements are C-C for what its worth, so the 57cm is a 60 c-t with a 57.5 tt

They are mostly Asia made now, and you can def tell the difference. They feel super cheap. I broke two hangers last year, in one summer of moderate grinding. And the kingpins are TOTAL pos.

Thats really a bummer. I was planning to build up a board to cruise around and do some slappys or whatever. No more stairs or rails. I don't like breaking my bones anymore. I wanted to use either independent or Venture since thats what I used back when. I really like the Brian Adams punk nose boards now but I haven't bought anything yet. Don't tell me speed demon, lucky and spitfire are **** now too. Otherwise I'm going to abandon all hope, walk into a Zumiez and kill myself.

edit : Jason Adams. I know, KMS

Hahaha Brian Adams!

Spitfires are still mostly USA made. I've been buying the Canadian Made, Canadian Maple plain decks for about 5 years now and I love them. They are cheap and tough, and you can get good "old school" pool shapes. I used to love Ventures and Trackers.

I was looking at this one. Looks like about 80mm of stem spacers too.
