Thanks, @AeroGut for the victory rd. It cleaned up nicely...
Not sure about the right position for the hanger stop, but I think I'll try it in this lower position first. I'll be using a 14-28t freewheel.

Don't need anything to trade since I'm de-acquiring...just greenbacks.

ISO - some really long reach brakes for a 1949 Clubman. The reach needs to be north of 75 mm - I believe the front needs to be 81. I have something on there that generally looks the part, but they are uber-flexy cheapos, and emergency braking is a problem. I am not insisting on strict period correctness, but I don't want anything that was only made after the 1960s. Can be side pull, or center pull. Most interested in the calipers, but the levers can stand to be upgraded too.
I have saddles, hubs, seat posts, rims, other brakes, cranksets, chainrings, racks, fenders, derailleurs, stems, bars, awful beige bar wrap... Let me know what you need.
While I'm at it... I'm also looking for spokes (non galvanized) in good condition. 297mm x 32, 296mm x 16, and 295mm x 16.

Unfortunately, I won't be building it up. It's a small frame that I picked up on craigs for its shimano group (and Sprint rd). I've never sold anything on ebay, but I'm going to try with this frame. It'll be a good use for the box my new tv came in.

Yeah, I thought that name drop would look good for that pic.

Neal, Thanks for the confirmation. I have a set of those stamped calipers on it now. I know I could improve the braking some by replacing the old John Bull pads I have on it, but it is terribly disconcerting to see how much the calipers flex. If the GBs have sufficient reach, I'd like to enter negotiations. Note that I'm running 590mm rims on it if that will help your reach determination estimate.

Even the Paramounts have these albeit a little thicker and better quality I think being "Schwinn built".
Some remarked about the "crappy Raleigh like stamped steel brakes" when I got the 58 but I think they are pretty cool, actually work just fine despite the crappy pads, are 100% original and in very good condition. I have some alloy Weinmann "Schwinn Approved" alloy calipers that were an upgrade but like the look of the chrome steel ones better.
Also not sure the long reach alloy's would stop any better, they always seemed very flexy as well.

Just don't pedal through the corners with them.
I speak from (very expensive) experience.

That is a vey short list of brakes, especially with that kind of reach which is likely the reason why.
