Any of you all using a Garmin fitness tracker off the bike?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any of you all using a Garmin fitness tracker off the bike?

Real interested in the Garmin VevoSport. I would like something that measures my sleep/calories and other exercise I do - soccer, running. I use the Garmin edge on the bike with a chest heart monitor and it has been fantastic for helping me refuel a little better. The issue is recovery for me since I do other activities. I am never quite sure where I am at in terms of caloric defeicit on active days off the bike.

Does the Vevesport play well with the Edge? Meaning, if I log a ride, it goes into my Garmin IPhone app, will that sync to the VevoSport so I have all that data in one place pretty easily?

Anyone using both, interested in how you like it.

I use a VivoActive Hr from a couple of years ago and my wife uses a newer Fenix model, but we don't have any other Garmin devices like an edge to work in there. I use the Vivoactive as my only bike computer now and my wife is more of a runner. I forward my Garmin Data to Strava, but I have no idea on how well the Edge and fitness watch would play together. In theory they would all forward to your garmin connect ap and the data there would give you a collective overview even if the edge couldn't forward to the fitness watch.

I wear a Forerunner 35 pretty much all the time. What it tells me about my non-recorded activities was pretty interesting at first but less so now. I'm pretty sure the Garmin app will accept data from both the watch and head unit just fine. You'll be able to see the combined data in the app.

I wear a Fenix 5 all the time and I find that it easily aggregates all of the data into Garmin Connect (mobile and web.) Even "Training Status" now incorporates data from multiple Garmin devices now.

That’s great. If I wanted to go full watch, the Fenix 5 would be on my short list. Sounds like VevoSport will work perfectly for what I am doing.

I use a Fenix 5X. Great for hiking, skiing, etc.

I think the sleep data has no value. Resting heart rate is moderately interesting.

couldnt agree more one the sleep data. Seems worthless to me. But I do use it to track all other stats of my everyday. I have the vivoavtive hr. Like mine and works well. I do have an issue now and then syncing but only if I don’t charge the thing and it goes dead.

Sucks about the sleep data but if I can get my calories balanced and heart rate all the time, I think that will help. Having a central hub to put all my workout data is something I have never done before. Sounds like it will be beneficial.
