Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

With a quarter for scale.

That was a pretty short train, probably on that shortline that ran through Pompton Plains, NJ

Would the coin have been squished more if it was a long train?

Did an LAJ workout today. Rode to work, did some work, did squats and deads, did some work, rode home, did low cadence sweet spot-ish stuff on the trainer. Not looking forward to going down the stairs tomorrow morning.

I had my first ride on the new ride since the incident. It was great, no residual effects from the wreck. Unfortunately I had to cut the ride short because I dropped my light when I was reinstalling it and the mount broke off.

11,999 is such a nice, round number. As numbers go, 9 and 11 are my two faves.

Decided to end my 27.5 front, 26 rear mtb experiment. Put ye olde 26er back on the front. Saved damn near a pound.

A pen show? Complete with a penmanship improvement seminar? Seriously? I am tempted to go just to check out the crowd. The Philly Tattoo Convention is also this weekend. Scary looking crowd for that one. So much to do this weekend.
See if you can switch the signs, and get everyone to go to the wrong event.

Dunno, but it looks as if coin smashing on that track may be a thing of the past.

There seems to be a team from the New England area that is also being talked about. Go figure.
