Thanks man - I ordered a new chain (the one pictured has been re-riveted, which is not my thing), I think I'll go 1 link longer and call it good. If I decide to get a 11-40t cassette down the road, I'll have the extra masterlink and can add back easily.

Where at in NorCal? I am headed to Fall River Mills next week/flying in to Medford, maybe Reno if that changes. Flights cancel a lot these days.

I feel bad too. I have been working from home since March. My youngest daughter is like my shadow, but she knows I am off limits all week. She can see me, but knows not to talk to me. It’s almost harder for her than me being in the office all day. On the weekends we get to catch up 😊

not a bad deal if it only cost me a $9 chain.
my companies approach is if you get video meeting bombed by kid, introduce them in my case the kid is out of the house so it is the cat

Spokane, West Valley area, but I have clients in Reno, Fall River Mills, Quincy, Patterson, Delano (not Norcal), Bishop (not really anything), and Garberville, so I am in Northern California A LOT

Growing up in what I consider a "truer" North/South state, I consider Red Bluff or so, the transition to Central Cal.
My younger brother RIP lived in Redding for 30+ years. We both scoffed at the idea of the Bay Area being in NorCal.
I think we both still do.

I'm in Marin, just at the base of Mt Tam. Was up there fly fishing this morning but it's just too hot this weekend.

Feather river? And that's awesome! Would love to ride Mt. Tam. Maybe will bring my bike next time I am visiting my client in Patterson. So much history!

I am really sorry about your little brother.

Talk to people in LA, they consider San Luis Obisbo and Bakersfield to be northern cal.

I had a similar experience moving to Seattle and hearing people there refer to Yakima as Eastern Washington LOL
