Is it permissible to add a little oil to your noodles? Just to help with the flavor and texture, not to make it easier to swallow. Maybe some Olive oil, a fish oil, canola, or something else? How much should I add, and should I wipe any excess off before eating? And should the noodles be cleaned/washed before oiling?
I gotta know!

Cup-o-noodles tastes like fertilizer-laced cardboard. Change my mind.

In 2016 I, while touring in Montana, I saw a guy with an entire case of individual ramen noodle packs strapped to his rear rack. The thing was probably 2’ high. WTH? It’s not like he wasn’t going to be passing through towns without legitimate grocery stores any time soon.

Any advantage to cooking the noodles in a carbon-fibre bowl instead of the cup they come in?, Maybe titanium, maybe aluminum, or is 'steel-the-real-deal'? Maybe a bowl that's laterally stiff and vertically compliant would create better heat (power) transfer and cook the noodles faster?
It’s comfortable, light, stiff, corrosion resistant, and longer lasting than the other cup materials.
Thus it is the material of choice by the boutique custom ramen cooker crowd.

I'm having some noodle shaped objects for lunch. I'll be surprised if it lasts until dinner.

What color bar tape should I use on my Cup-o'-Noodles? I need to wrap the cup to keep it warm, and have a good grip on it while eating. Does color matter, or just go with basic black?
Or maybe skip the bar tape and just go with gloves? Should they be half-finger with an open back (maybe crochet) and leather of synthetic leather palms? Full finger gloves in leather or synthetic, and maybe padded palms?
Dang, this is getting confusing!

I make my own noodles. At home. The last time I tried to get noodles at the LGS, they screwed it up. It's not that hard to make your own noodles, especially with Youtube. If you can't make your own noodles, you probably shouldn't be eating.

[newuserbikeguy] Hey guys, new to the forum! Just making some cup o'noodles and heard conflicting reports, should you fill the styrofoam cup ALL the way to the fill line with hot water? That seems like a lot. Also, what temperature should I use?
[mr.straight-laced] Yes. That's why it's there.
[Controvesial_Campy_Karl] No way, maybe 3-4 mm below for best results. Otherwise it's soupy
[Capn-Obvi] [quote: No way, maybe 3-4 mm below for best results. Otherwise it's soupy] isn't it soup?
[Fancy.Equip.Bill] As far as the temp goes, I use the 190F faucet I installed. Works great
[Token_retro_grouch] Hey, @fancy.Equip.Bill, must be nice! The rest of us use an old tea kettle
[Token_retro_grouch] Cup o'Noodles are just Ramen in a cup. Why not just get a bowl and eat ramen?
[mr.straight-laced] Yes. That's why it's there.

you put the soupy noodles in a bag over night in the freezer and placed it in your jersey before a known warm ride. It’ll keep you cool and provide lunch down the road....
