Gios Compact mistake purchase
I rode it when it was offered for sale, and I liked it. I still do. He said it was a 61cm, which is on the short range for me, turns out, it's a 60. SN 707135. The seller said it was his father's, and he appears to have attempted to paint it without priming it, and picked a shade of blue that is way off. The raised "GIOS" lettering is intact. It has the non coin accepting forks. I cannibalised all but the crankset (172.5), bb, and headset (Dura Ace). Is this worth selling, I wonder. Someone with painting skill and decal application may make something of this.

...tough call in this day and age. It's a very fast crit bike, when built up accordingly. Try giving it away for free in the C+V marketplace ? Not sure anyone wants to paint and restore these race bikes any more, You're underwater on money the minute you begin.

I have a mid 90's Cpmact Pro and it is a very nice frame. A friend told me these are popular in the single speed/fixie community because of the sliding dropout. It has value I'm sure, not sure exactly what, but it's not a throwaway or giveaway (to non-worthy cause) for sure.

I assure you it's not. That's a crack in the paint. I took some more off. It's where the downtube fits in the BB lug.
