Redline City 925 for San Jos8 conversion.
What are the thoughts on using the Redline City 925 for an 8 speed IGH conversion a la Bianchi San Joes8? I know it won't have the cantilever brakes but would there be an issue in stuffing an 8 speed IGH into it? I know it was mentioned in an ancient thread in passing, but I didn't want to add on to a Zombie thread..

Does the rear spacing match?
Does the hub play nice with the tensioners?
Gonna buy a built wheel or build one? How concerned are you with the front and rear rims and style matching? There are matching front hubs and dyno hubs for the Shimano gear hubs, at least.

You can actually do a little better than a San Jos8 in the shifter department now. Versa, Microshift and Jtek all make Nexus/Alfine shifters for road bars.

That's actually alot, and don't forget you'll have to straighten the dropouts afterwards. Spreading will also lessen clearance between the tire and seattube. I'd recommend using a wider spaced frame. SA makes an 8spd hub in 120 OLD,but first gear is direct drive, and they've had quality issues.
