Newbie with a Trek 7000

Hi everyone,

Used to ride regularly- was a participant in the American Cancer Society Bike-a-thon for 11 years (1987-1998) Didn't break any speed records, never came close to keeping up with the big boys, but had a lot of fun. Yet for various reasons, have pretty much not been on a bike since.

Started back riding with a cheap Schwinn mountain bike, and found I really enjoyed it. So I bought a Trek 7000 and found that I have been enjoying it even more!

Looking forward to getting to know you and benefiting from your experience and insights.

Can't with me- I am too set in my ways now.

But welcome back and watch out and start saving. Cycling is more expensive now that it was 5 years ago. 13 years off the bike and they have risen a lot. Fun element is still there though.

Welcome.

I have two 7000zx and a 8000sl, (vintage MTBs) and a yet another zx frame in storage. I guess I like them. Most parts of those bikes I cobbled together with eBay used parts or cannibalized other bikes. Keep your 7000 long-term, (hybrid?) you can always use it for something. I've considered putting an electric kit on one of these MTBs once the weight and price comes down.
