Its about time for tarantulas to come out of their burrows in the hillsides around here to look for mates. Haven't seen any yet on the fireroads, but its not unusual in late September-October to see a lot of them.

I haven't seen any snakes yet, but there are apparently copperheads in my new locale. I'm a bit paranoid about copperheads. I'm used to rattlesnakes, and at least understand how those work!
Nothing interesting here, though I almost hit a deer on my bike the other evening and (as usual) I tend to attract (domestic) cats. It would be cool to see a bobcat or coyote; I like those little guys.

Saw a squished little bitty snake (not a rattler) on a ride a month or so ago. But did see a large wild turkey cross the road of front of several of us on a ride in the country west of Indy yesterday.
