My commuting bike is 45 years old. The only thing "obsolete" on it is the 26tpi steerer tube. It's a good thing that the original headset is durable and still in great shape.

I would kind of split this post into road and MTB standards.
Axles - QR, 12x135 and 10x100 are standards that are not going anywhere for a long time. For my road bike I would prefer QR but my mountain, bikepacking and mountain tandem all run through axles.
Brakes - Traditional caliper and disk brakes are also a pretty set in stone standard.
Drivetrains - With the exception of my wifes bike(3x9) and our road tandem(3x10), every bike that I have runs Shimano 2x10 drivetrains.
BBs - BBs are the only place where I've seen a lot of flux with standards. How many standards do there have to be? My road bike runs some darned Shimano press fit BB which is a PITA when it starts to creak. Our road and mountain tandems as well as my bikepacking and mountain bike all run BB68 BBs. Are there better ones out there? Probably. Will almost every LBS have a BB68 available? Most likely.
Hubs - An area where a lot of people do their own thing. I have SRAM, Shimano, Hope, DT Swiss and Onyx(By far the best darned hub that I've ever owned).
