Time to move along some old friends...

This is a heads up that over the next several months I’ll be downsizing my collection of bikes and framesets. Not a health issue, not a space problem, just at 68+ I need to simplify my life a little (I’ll still have five bikes plus various projects). Once that’s done I’ll probably winnow down my collection of components and group sets as well.

If you see anything on the list below that’s a personal grail, feel free to send me an-mail at rccardr@cox.net for pictures and a complete description in advance of a more descriptive Marketplace posting. Otherwise, I’ll post these one at a time in the Marketplace thread with full descriptions & pics as I get pictures and exact measurements together. Unless I've noted that the frame has been resprayed, safe to assume that it's original paint. It's also safe to assume that each bike and frame is pretty much show quality...there will be no disappointments!

With regard to pedals, if I have a pair that originally came with the bike, they will be included. Also have a box of various used pedals- mostly road style Look type, etc,- and if they fit your needs I'll include at no charge with a bike purchase. Some of these bikes also 'come with' additional items, e.g. a spare backup freewheel, set of brake levers, or alternative/optional part/s that I've picked up along the way.

Any of the bikes on the list marked with an asterisk (*) can be purchased as a frameset, and in those cases the complete price is first, followed by the frameset price.

Please note that prices do not include shipping. I'll pack things properly myself and ship using Ship bikes as they are the least expensive right now.

It’s generally easier and faster for me to respond to questions by e-mail at the above address.

Thanks for looking!

I got nervous when I saw your name on the thread - I know we ride the same size. If you get it from the rccardr, you know it's gonna be good!

Wow, I've moved 1/2 dozen along myself this year trying to downsize. And then all these pop up. You're killin' me!

Glad to hear it's only down-sizing. Your rides are always some of the cleanest builds on BF.

Wondered how long it would take for someone to ask that!

The five keepers are: 1) Merckx Pro SLX with DA 7410/7402, 2) Pelizzoli custom with DA 7700, 3) Cannondale ST with 10 speed compact, 4) Davidson Discovery with friction 8 speed, and 5) Canyon Endurace with Shimano 105 11 speed. All of them are freehub, all have HG cogs, all have two bottle cage mounts (except for the ST, which has 3), all can be ridden all day long in comfort. The Davidson and the Pelizzoli can both take 650B setups. The Merckx and the Pelizzoli can also be set up with Extreme Hill Gearing for events like Eroica, although the Davidson proved itself more than capable of that in 2019.

It's also likely that I'll have at least one project bike going on at any given time. For example, there's a certain Bianchi Mondial that's due to return to the Lab any day now and it will probably hang around for at least a few months when finished.
