Who makes the bike stands that hold the crank arm?
Hello, I am starting to thin my collections and have seen some bike stands that the crank arms fit into, they are made out of steel etc....searching the net I can't find the source.
if any of you own this type of stand where did you purchase it and is it stable?
Best, Ben

Persons made (makes?) the black ones with the cross base. Crankarms get stuck in them sometimes. This is more annoying than it is anything else.

Xiaoman1, I have used those stands in the past. Be aware that they can scratch the crankarms and that they typically fit cranks with narrower arms (such as vintage Nuovo Record or Shimano stuff.)

I just picked one up cheap at a garage sale last weekend similar to the Sunlite model:
My impressions are that it would be limited by the crank arm shape and that it provides marginally stability. I would describe it as useful for taking pictures of a subject bike, but not useful for servicing the bike.

If you want one, I have one that I don't use. I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping.

I have one of those. I've had it well over 30 years. Marketed under the "Cycle Pro" name. Keeps the bike standing up all right. It does scratch the crank arm if you're not careful. It was never intended as a work stand of any kind.
