My understanding is those things were intended for keirin racers to use while street training. I guess a rear brake on a FG would be better than no additional brakes, but the main advantage is having a front brake because it can stop you quicker than any kind of rear (including the fixed wheel) can.
Were it me, I'd get a fork that can mount a front brake, or a different bike for street riding (assuming you use the bike on the track).

This adaptor still requires the rear brake bridge to be the proper distance from the rim for the caliper/pads to fit. I guess if you can't drill through the bridge then this adaptor is your ticket.
Side bar- this is just one more example of the wrong tool for the job of riding where there's traffic. Andy

Please take a look at the pic,s
on my post on this forum.
Space for front brake??
this frame is not for the road, it,s just to go to the track from home I prefere the front mount but I think I need more spacing to do this correctly.
Also the HS is not right. : incompetent mechanic

I have no skin in this but to offer experience and note your assumption of going to and from the track isn't use on a public thoroughfare. But maybe you do have a privet trail from home to the track. Andy (who has tried to use a number of excuses when dealing with authority, generally they didn't work)
