Thanks, but I saw that already from their website. According to that, I need a 49 for that 535 top tube. But that doesn't sound right.

I don't know if you saw my conversations with Francesco from Dodici but he was strongly advising that I size down

Thanks ham, I didn't see them, but I'll keep that in mind. Tells me that 51 is the biggest I should go.

Wait a minute, is that the geo chart for the legitimate straight from Italy dodici gara OR leader "dodici" gara? Because the two are obviously different beasts...

Nonetheless a good deal is a good deal considering they once wanted $1000 for the duo.

On a more interesting note, I've done some digging and uncovered some stuff regarding the "Gara" which I would like to share/ the more you know.

They're actually 2 different models of Dodici Garas. There's a higher and lower model. Just think of the difference between Bianchi's Super Pista/ Pista Concept and Pista D2/ the white aluminium models.

Apparently the Dodici Gara's that are currently being fire-saled off by coghouse// middlemaned/sold by Leader are actually the Dodici Gara MMXII and the lower end model; yet Leader drops the MMXII part here in the states and straight up calls it the Gara.
https://www.dodicicicli.com/collectio...ara-2012-frame

The other Gara, the one that scrod has, is the higher end gara, the Dodici Gara, which Leader doesn't sell and has to be bought direct.

Indeed so.
BUT it's still a good deal through. Trust me, I've been fighting the temptation this entire thanksgiving because what I don't need is another aluminium track bike.

Thanks for dropping the knowledge Leuky. I'm gonna hold off until we see what's what with the BF aftermath. Who knows what kind of deals will pop up.

What constitutes it being lower end? From talking to them it seemed like the cheap ones were cheap because they were pre painted and standard sizing, while the other ones came with a custom color and could have custom geo (among other custom add ons) and I believe both come with the exact same fork. If you price the MMXII vs the standard Gara the price difference isn't even much, since the MMXII doesn't come with a fork

Either way, all of these framesets have the same geo, according to their sales rep who I talked to directly. I also believe both are double butted 6061 aluminum

I probably didn't use the best choice of words back there. Anyhow what I meant to imply was there is a higher and latter model between the 2 no matter what; you're comparing off the shelf bike vs full custom down to the paint.
Of course something has to give between a mass produced frame vs full custom counterpart; such as less attention to detail or quality especially when you factor in that they're not gearing for quality but quantity.
Not to mention I have a feeling Leader has some sort of hand in this specific model as I first seen the MMXII model on leader's page (announcement of leader becoming dodici's official NA supplier) before dodici's when it first appeared in the wild; not to mention this coincides with leader's reputation of mass production and assimilation of bikes with a spotty/ questionable record of quality.

I got this on email and was considering it, the everyday price for this at bikeisland.com is $159 I believe.

Gotta say though, lugged fork with an ovalized aero aluminum frame looks bizarre.

The tubes on the SST-AL are far from "aero".
