I have managed to come into possession of a tubeless-compatible set of wheels, 23mm wide rims. I'm thinking to use them for bad weather so the idea of wider tires at lower pressures appeals to me. I'd like to hear some specific recommendations for tubeless tires, 25mm wide. Wider than 25mm doesn't appeal to me due to my (lack of) weight. I prefer tires that give me some decent performance rather than ultimate flat protection. Thanks in advance.

I'm on 23mm rims, tubeless. I know you asked for 25mm tires, but my 23mm Schwalbe Ultremo ZXs measure wider than 27mm consistently, and they're amazing. I'll never ride GP4ks again.

I ran Bontrager r3 tubeless in 25mm great tire good weight for a tubeless. Got about 1500 miles before swapping, would have gotten more but I did a ton of dirt roads and gravel so sealant was starting to seep from some cuts. Still never a flat. I weigh about 158-160 ran 85 rear and 80 frt. very cushy. I'm trying Hutchison Fusion 3's in 23mm right now and don't like them as much as the Bontragers which I think are constantly overlooked products

Another vote for Bontrager R3; I have been using them for over a year and have nothing but good things to say about them. They can be expensive at list price though, unless you have a connection with your local Trek dealer.

Bontrager R3 again. I ride them in 700x23 at 90psi (165lb rider) and I love them. Granted I am new to tubeless. They are a slick, so they might not be what you want in the rain.

There's also the new schwalbe one which comes in 23, 25 and 28mm models. No experience yet but they are in the way

Let us know how they are. They have some good reviews and I tried to get them before doing the Hutchison's but no 25mm available at the time. I also hear that they are MUCH easier to put on. The Bontrager's were tough but doable, I've never had such a hard time with a tire as I did with the Hutchison!

Not yet, really. I've been trying to do some reading on the various recommendations that have been made. It appears that the Bontragers are only available at Trek dealers, mostly at list price. That makes them a bit costly.

FWIW, Bontrager R2's are also really nice and a fair bit cheaper.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I have been using 25mm Bontrager R3's on RXL wheels since January. While I have not had any outright punctures, the tires themselves are porous. I am loosing upwards of 25 pounds overnight. By putting the tires in water, I can see tiny bubbles forming all over the casing. I am using the Bontrager sealant, and I can find no leaks at the valve, bead or through the rim strip. The one actual thorn puncture sealed up instantly. Are the tires not lined, or did I get a bad pair?

Most certainly its the tape, not the tire. You will have to re-tape the rims, put a new valve and fresh sealant. I prefer Orange Seal over Stans products.

If you want to change tires look at the Hutchinson Sector 28's. Best tire I have ever ridden on, made exclusively for the Paris Rubaix
