Upgrading my drive train
Hello Everybody;
I got a State Montecore 3 and I want to upgrade my drive train from the stock one.
I have two options, either I get an external bearing type the mechanism (sram omnium) or I keep the bottom bracket that came with the bike (Neco square taper) and buy a better crankset.
Of course the second option is much cheaper but I am willing the get the sram omnium if it is a much better option than the second one.
I am new in the fixed gear world so I will appreciate any info you can provide.
Thanks a lot.

sram omnium is top of the line, but probably more than you need for every day use unless you race competitively. that said, it’s not outlandishly expensive, so if you want the beat of the best, go for it.

Why do you feel you need something so high end as Omniums first of all? And what's wrong with your stock cranks?
As it's already been mentioned prior, this is top of the line before you get to Sugino 75 or Dura ace territory.
