Dawes SST bottom bracket
I bought a steel Dawes SST for the sake of commuting to work. I really like the bike but it makes a clicking noise when pedaling under load. The sound is missing when coasting and when just spinning the pedals when lifted off the ground. I lubed and tightened everything can find. I think the problem is coming from the BB. I would like to replace it but it I am not sure what to buy. The website says it has a Semi Cartridge Bearing ST 108mm. I am not sure what to buy to replace it. Any thoughts that would make a sensible replacement BB?
Thanks,
OC

I haven't pulled mine out, but I think it's just standard threading and a Shimano UN26 will work.
FWIW, my SST had a clicking noise when pedaling and it turned out to be the freewheel. Easy enough to check, just flip to the fixed gear side for one ride.

Thanks for the response and sorry if this is dumb question but when I look up the UN26 on amazon, there isn't one listed with a 108mm size.

Personally I wouldn't replace this until I eliminated everything else.

If you do end up replacing your BB go with the UN-55 because it uses metal cups which are quite superior to the plastic non-drive cup on a UN-26. It might cost a little more but is worth it in the end. Your local shop should have one around or can get you one easily.
However make sure you eliminate all other possibilities first. I have had "BB" issues that weren't BB issues at all, one was actually a loose quick release that we didn't think to check and spent a long time trying to get it fixed and a few others were non-tight pedals or cranks.
