PSA - work stand at Aldi

Found this stand while shopping at the discount grocery store. If you have one near you it's a heck of a deal for the price.

I bought one today, it's heavier than I expected, and the price is good. Have not assembled it yet.

I really didn't even need it, it was just such a good deal I felt obligated to buy one.

Same here. Will update the post when I put it together and try it out.

its a really good stand. Best $25 you will spend on bike tools. I purchased one just a week ago and its really impressive for the price.

In a couple weeks if any are left they'll be discounted. I paid $15ea for the 2 I own.
They're not a substitute for my Feedback, but perfectly adequate for most repair and maintenance. Cheap enough to keep one in the basement and one in the garage.

I like how every photo of a bike is clamped incorrectly into the stand.

The best deal I've ever gotten in the world of cycling! I've had mine for about two years now and love it. Awesome quality for the price. I was reluctant to get one at first, thought it would be a joke, but figured I could always take it back. Boy was I surprised! After I got it home and put together, I really thought someone had made a big mistake on the price. So I went back to confirm it was right, and was gonna buy another ...but was sold out.

Thought it was a one time deal. I'll start looking again...

Thanks for this tip ! Just bought the last one in stock from the ALDI I went to, and it was open box. All there including warranty papers and manual. All parts still bagged, and they knocked off $ 5. due to comprised packaging.

Just snagged one myself. It's good to have a backup or even an extra one if you're cleaning multiple bikes at once. Great deal!

One time I bought a pork loin at Aldi. Put it in the fridge for two days. Opened it up to cook it. It smells rancid and literally started to disintegrate in my hands. You know there is something wrong with a piece of meat like that when you can basically liquefy it with the garbage disposal. I have an aversion to things Aldi.

It very much depends on location. Our local Aldi isn't the nicest but we've never had issues with spoiled/rotten food in the many years we've been going there. We buy lots of pork loins and have never had one liquify. Their fillet's aren't the best though so we stray away for those.

Not saying Aldi is great for everything but in time we've come to use it for about 50% of all our grocery shopping.

I shop for dinner and breakfast nearly every day after work. Lots of fresh stuff, like whole fish. For staples like canned and the like good I will wait for a crappy weather weekend to take a short drive to a ShopRite to stock up.

Some nice looking walleyes at While Foods yesterday. I grilled one a while back and may get another tonight. Or maybe a bluefish.

Thanks for heads up. Did a quick grab and go at local store knowing I can return if needed (they only had 1). See it fits straight frame, 1"to 1-9/16" tube. To save opening does anyone know if it will fit a 2016 CAAD 10 or FELT F75X top tube/

This looks like the same stand I got when they had them before. I love it. Easy to load almost any bike quickly. Folds up and out of the way fast. My only warnings would be: Be cautious loading the bike. The Clamp is pretty sturdy, but not metal. Also; I like to let one of the wheels rest against the ground. It isn't necessary, but helps keep everything more stable. I really am glad I got mine.

I’ve never seen an Aldi until I moved to the UK. I’ve just been buying (too much) cottage and shepherds pie at my local Aldi, guess I’ll have to check and see if they’re carrying the stands here.

Darn you Ref. Because of you, I just spent $25.00 for something I really don't need (already have an excellent stand). Seems sturdy though and well worth the cost. Thanks for the heads up.

pro tip- attach the bike by the seat post instead of the top tube.
- less chance of crushing thin wall tube
- less chance of scratching paint

If your seatpost is CF, have a dummy aluminum one in the stand for use when working on the bike. Just no reason to clamp a bike by the top tube.

Thank You! First experience with stands, I'm usually just leaning them up against the back of car while cleaning/lubing chain/FD/RD/Cassette etc. Any adjustments needed are by LBS who does for free since I purchased there. Will be taking the time to u-tube the "proper use of bike stand' shortly. Again, thanks.

I saw this thread yesterday and went straight to my local Aldi. I put it together and tried it out. For $25.25 (I ate the price of the cart rental by passing it along on my way out the door) I’m happy and looking forward to the next time I need to wash my bike.

Sounds like it was left out of refrigeration for an extended period of time, which could have happened at any grocery store.

Aldi has a lot of really good products.

Let's stick to the Stand which is fantastic by the way.
Best bike purchase I've made in a long time. Not only for the $25 but it's worth a lot more.

It's a pretty good stand, very sturdy. I feel like it could do with only 3 feet as 5 can be a pain to position/move in tighter spaces. Definitely a steal for the price!
