Giant Escape 1 Disc VS Giant Fastroad SL2 for commuting and long distance riding?
I am looking for a bike for commuting and fitness riding, which Giant Escape 1 Disc seems like an optimal choice for. But I am not sure if this is also a comfortable bike for long distance riding (30~40 miles, mostly paved with occasional gravel)?
Then I came across Giant Fastroad SL2 and was curious if this would be more optimal for my needs.
Thanks in advance!

The Fastroad is more of a road bike with flat bars. It has a road groupset and narrower tires. it's also geared for road riding. It will put you in a slightly more aggressive position. I think it would be great for fitness and will do fine with commuting.
The Escape has wider tires will be a little better on your gravel paths than the Fastroad, but that's not to say the Fastroad can't do it.
Both are fine for 30-40 mile riding, and I would give the nod to the Escape for comfort, simply because of the wider tires and more upright riding position,
Test ride them both back to back, and you'll probably find one fits your better and feels more comfortable. But either will do fine for what you need.
