Trek 4300 frame
My question regarding gravel bike,,I've just started paying attention to the term,,,,,,so now I bought this frame trek 4300,,, it's missing both wheels ,seat ,seat post and the clamp for it,,,, the question,,,, is there some way I can convert this frame by adding some certain components to make it more like a gravel bike,,,,,, right now it has straight bars like a mountain bike ,,,,,, and a mushy fork,,,,,,any ideas?

Older 26" mountain bikes can make decent gravel bikes. I recently just turned my old 26" mtb into a gravel/bikepacking rig. I added a Surly rigid fork to it that has tons of tire clearance, i put a larger 27.5 front wheel on it, added drop bars and bar end shifters. Looking forward to putting some miles on it this year. If you do run drop bars you'll probably have to use a shorter stem to keep the cockpit from being too long. Plenty of tires out there, lightweight xc tires work great as gravel tires.
